The short version
- We collect what we need to make your films and run your account.
- We don't sell your data, and there are no advertising trackers on this site.
- Your stories go to the services that write and voice your film, and nowhere else.
- You can download or delete everything from your account.
Who we are
Drawn Films (drawnfilms.com) is responsible for your data. For anything about privacy, email hello@drawnfilms.com.
What we collect
| What | For example |
|---|---|
| Your account | Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google |
| What you make | Stories and scripts, films, stills, characters, channel names and niches |
| Your plan | Your plan, minutes used and invoices. Stripe holds your card details; we don't |
| The community | Your Discord user ID, if you join our server |
| How you use it | Pages and features you use, errors, and your browser and device type |
| Messages | Emails you send us, and whether our emails were delivered |
Why we use it
- To make your films and run your account. We need this to give you what you signed up for.
- To take payments and keep the records the law requires.
- To fix problems and improve Drawn Films, because we have a legitimate interest in it working well.
- To email you when a film is ready, about your account, and about important changes. Product news only goes out if you say yes, and you can stop it any time.
Data abroad
Some of these companies are in the United States. When your data leaves the UK or EU, we use the safeguards the law provides, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your stories, films and characters stay as long as your account does. Delete a film and it's gone.
- When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Backups clear within a further 30 days.
- We keep invoices and payment records for as long as tax law requires, usually six years.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, and to object to or limit how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself from your account. For the rest, email hello@drawnfilms.com and we'll answer within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK, or the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Drawn Films isn't for anyone under 16. If we learn that a child has made an account, we'll delete it.
Keeping it safe
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers, and only the people who need it to run Drawn Films can see it. If something goes wrong that puts your data at risk, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before it applies.
