What you need
- Claude or Codex. A Claude plan with the Code tab in the Claude app, or Codex. Your AI writes and draws everything, on your own plan.
- ElevenLabs, only for voices. Your own recordings work too, and so does a film with no voices. See Voices.
Nothing else needs installing, not even video software.
Buy it
- Click Get Drawn Films.
- On Stripe's checkout page, type your email and pay by card.
It's one payment, and it's yours. There's nothing to renew.
Save your install page
After you pay, you land on your install page, and we email you its link too. The exact lines to copy are there, and only there.
Bookmark it, and keep the email. You'll want it again on a new computer. If you lose both, email hello@drawnfilms.com from the address you paid with.
Keep your install link to yourself, the way you'd keep a password.
Install in Claude
- Open the Claude app and click Code. In the row under the message box, choose Local, then click the folder control, then Open folder…, and pick any folder, like Documents. It's only for this step.
- Copy the message from your install page, paste it in, and send it. Claude adds the Drawn Films plugin list and tells you when it's done.
- Click + next to the message box, then Add plugins. If the menu says Plugins, choose it, then Browse plugins.
- On Discover, click the filter button next to Search and pick drawn-films.
- Install Drawn Films, for you, so it's there for every film.
Install in Codex
- Open the app and click Plugins in the sidebar.
- Click Add, then Add a marketplace.
- In Source, paste the Codex link from your install page, then click Add marketplace.
- Find Drawn Films in the list and click Install.
- Start a new chat, in any folder for now. A chat only picks up plugins that were there when it began.
First run
The first time, your AI sets up the engine and makes a DrawnFilms folder in your home folder, which holds your voice key. It's about a 75 MB download, once, and takes a minute or so.
- Send this:
Set up Drawn Films on this computer, make my DrawnFilms folder, then show me the seven styles. - If it asks to install a small tool called
uv, say yes. That's what runs the engine. - In Codex: it asks to run a setup command outside its sandbox. Approve it.
When a picture of the seven styles opens on your screen, you're done. That picture was drawn on your own computer. From now on, start each session or chat in the folder you want your films in. Each film goes there.
Next, make your first film. If something went wrong, see Fixes.
