The seven styles
| Style | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Hand-drawn | A pencil line and hatching, with the paper showing. |
| Simple | One dark outline and flat fills. |
| Coloured pencil | Strokes flicked in one diagonal through the paper's tooth, cross-hatched darks and broken contours. |
| Pencil dots | One pen's dots on white, with tone only from how many. It's black ink, so any colour in the film's own drawing turns to how dark it is. |
| Vector | Crisp flat fills with no strokes, colours in one key, and grain on the shade side. |
| Comic | Marker flats, a hard shadow edge and one heavy contour. |
| 1950s | Gouache flats on warm board, dry brush, and an ink line off register. |
You pick at stop 1 of a film, where your story's own place is drawn in every style. To see them any time, ask:
What styles are there?
How a style works
- A style is real drawing, with its own shapes and marks. It's never a filter over a finished frame.
- Every mark stays fixed to its shape, so nothing shimmers. A moving mouth changes only the mouth.
- All seven draw the same body, head, face and hands, so lip sync and movement work in each one.
- A film picks one style and holds it.
Describe your own
At stop 1, say the look in your own words instead of picking a number. Say what it's drawn with, the kind of line, the colours and the paper.
Soft charcoal on grey paper, thick smudged lines, one red thing in every picture.
Your AI writes that down as a recipe, then builds it as real drawing across people, places, objects and text. It saves the recipe in the film's folder, so every shot, and your next film, is drawn the same way.
Match a picture
Bring a picture and say "like this". Your AI takes how it's drawn, never what's drawn.
- It looks at the picture, whole and then close up on a busy part.
- It writes a recipe: the mark, the edge, the order the marks go down, the surface, the colour, and how people are drawn.
- It draws something different that way, with a new subject in a new layout.
- It puts the two side by side and fixes the recipe. Two or three rounds is normal.
It won't trace the picture, or use its layout, characters, signature motifs, text or stories. If you own the picture and want it in the film, it can be shown there as a picture.
