Music plays from the first frame to the last and dips under voices and effects. It can turn from any shot to calm, joy, hope, sad, fear or drive.
Use the nostalgic-piano set. Calm on the bus, joy on the beach, hope from the moment she stands up.
A score composed in code
Your AI can write a score for this film, in the manner of any set. It has its own notes, it needs no internet, and no two films share one.
Compose the music for this film, in the style of the dark-ambient set.
- Another tune: ask for one, and it writes a different one.
- Another lead: ask for a different instrument to play the tune.
- No tune: ask for no melody. That suits horror, and any film where a tune would be wrong.
- By hand: the notes are in
audio/score.jsonin your film's folder.
Your AI can't hear. It measures the score and catches faults, but only you can tell if it feels right. Listen to it before you say go.
Mixing them
A film can use a library set and a composed score across different parts.
Play the rhodes set, and turn to a score composed in the felt-piano style for the sad part.
Music of your own
Any music file works, whether you generated it somewhere else, made it or brought it. Put it in your film's audio/ folder and say so.
Use audio/mine.wav as the music.
It plays and dips like the rest. Use only music you have the right to use. For pictures cut to a song, see Anything else.
Real quiet
The music can hold off for one shot. It fades out into the shot and comes back after.
Take the music out for shot 14, so we only hear the clock.
Sound effects
There are 95 built in, such as knocks, steps, phones, doors, paper and wind. They use no credits.
Put a knock on the moment her hand hits the door.
- Each sound lands on its exact frame. Its moment is measured for you, so a slow start in the file doesn't make it late.
- One cue from a music set works as an effect too, such as a set's sting.
- Your own sound works too. Put the file in your film's
audio/folder and ask for it by name.
The whole mix comes out at one loudness. A film with no voices, music or effects renders silent.
